Rapid immunochromatographic test for qualitative determination of coconut antigen in foods, kitchen and production facilities.

Coconut allergy can display the variety of symptoms from mild oral allergy to severe life-threatening systemic reactions, i.e. anaphylactic shock or bronchial asthma. Allergy to coconut is rare and there is no established data on its prevalence in population.

Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act identified that tree nut allergy is one of the 8 major food allergies, and specific types pf nuts should be labeled on the food package.

In EU, coconut is not listed as potential allergen in regulatory documents.

XEMATest Hazelnut does not detect the antigens of cereals, legumes and other nuts.
